Our commitment

Global M'ckarm International Care Services Limited is committed to protecting adults at risk from abuse, neglect and exploitation. Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility in our organisation.

We follow the Care Act 2014, the Mental Capacity Act 2005, and the multi-agency safeguarding procedures of the local authorities where we work.

Our safeguarding lead

Our Designated Safeguarding Lead is Josphat Sibanda, Director. They are responsible for making sure concerns are reported, recorded and acted on, and that staff are trained and supported.

How we keep people safe

We keep people safe by:

  • following safer recruitment practice, including enhanced DBS checks, references and right to work checks for every member of staff
  • training all staff in safeguarding adults before they work alone, with regular refresher training
  • writing support plans and risk assessments with each person, so risks are understood and managed in a way that respects their choices
  • supporting people to make their own decisions, and following the Mental Capacity Act where they lack capacity to make a particular decision
  • giving staff regular supervision, and a clear whistleblowing route if they are worried
  • working openly with local authorities, health services, the police and families

If you have a concern

If you are worried that someone we support is being harmed or is at risk of harm:

  • If someone is in immediate danger, call 999.
  • Tell us straight away by emailing office@globalmckarm.co.uk.
  • You can also report a concern directly to the adult social care team of the local authority where the person lives.

We take every concern seriously. We will act quickly, involve the person wherever we can, and refer concerns to the local authority when needed.

Whistleblowing

Staff who raise genuine concerns are protected. If anyone feels unable to raise a concern with us, they can contact the local authority, the Care Quality Commission, or the whistleblowing charity Protect.
